Dr Roselani Henry, a Staff Specialist, Older Persons Sub-acute and Rehabilitation at Cairns & Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS), will offer a comprehensive update on two crucial areas:
Additionally, Dr Henry will delve into the prescribing and deprescribing of antidepressants and antipsychotics in the older adult population. This will involve assessing the advantages and disadvantages associated with the selection of various antidepressants for older individuals and exploring the choice of antipsychotics in the management of Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms in Dementia. Dr Henry will also provide an overview of the national and international resources available to guide deprescribing efforts in this context.
